Destiny 2: Episode 2 - Kell's Fall Exotic (2024)
For Destiny 2's second Episode after the Final Shape (Revenant), I lit the first half of the Kell's Fall exotic mission which took us back to a familiar place on the Tangled Shore - but with a twist. For this activity we got to explore some fairly bold color usage in our lighting, pairing saturated red and blue; paying homage to references like Suspiria.
This activity also included a new 'realm' for Destiny, taking us into a mirror-like dimension. Contrary to some of our other 'realm' locations like the Ascendent Realm, we wanted this dimension to be less sinister in nature to act as a counter balance to the rest of the interior of the Kell's castle.
Previous Bungie Senior Lighting Artist, Danny O'Hailey, played a big part in standing up the look of this activity during lighting prepro and was responsible for lighting the second half of this activity (not featured in this post).
